Coffee Review: Ethiopia Guduva Legertha by Good Cup Coffee Co.
COFFEE DETAILS Origin: Sakicha, Guji Variety: Kurume Elevation: 2000 MASL Harvest Year: 2020 Process: Natural Producer(s): Various smallholders Roast: Medium Flavor Notes: Blueberry, Watermelon, Grapes, Chocolate

Ethiopia Guduva Legertha is a bright and medium-bodied coffee from Guji, Ethiopia, roasted by Good Cup Coffee Company in Cebu City. It's my first time trying the exotic Kurume variety cultivated in the Guji region. This naturally processed coffee gave me a splendid first impression.

The fragrance of the dry coffee grounds is a perfect combination of aromatic sweet chocolate, red wine, and raisin. As the coffee grounds start blooming, the floral notes blossoms and then progress into a honeyed fruit. The presence of the aroma of freshly cut watermelon gives you already an indication that the coffee will be juicy. The flavor began with the sweetness of berries and chocolate. The crisp blueberry and grape notes dances along with delightful molasses/maple syrup. The chocolate notes kind of reminded me of the goya chocolate with raisins. It also has this mild but juicy watermelon note which is more dominant when served with ice. As the coffee cools down, it gives you more sweetness.

The sensation that lingers in the mouth is the sweet chocolate and tangy blueberry. This palatable coffee also offers a smooth and elegant mouthfeel, given to a high-quality coffee. The coffee has a delicate flavor to offer. Its complexity enlivened the coffee snob side of me. I love reviewing specialty coffees that have a complex layering of flavors like this one.
BOTTOM LINE: Masarap s'ya.
